Charles
Edward Reece had an interest in photography
since delving into graphic design
at the turn of the century, when his
design work called for original images.
By 2004 he began taking pictures to
express himself, capture his memories
and leave a legacy of how he viewed
his life. A year later, Reece founded
Charles Edward Photography to meet
his demand for shooting models, artists,
live shows and more.

Autonomy of being my own boss. I get to
choose my assignments, rather than have
them dictated to me.
What are you working on now? Any
upcoming projects?
With the new year, there are always new
projects. The projects on the table so far
this year, are on the fashion side of
things. I am working with a few models on
their portfolio, and we are concepting and
creating the looks that they want to convey
to their audience.
Name five (5) models you would
like to work with.
Shakara, Neferteri Sheppard, Melyssa Ford,
Joanna Prado and Lala Ali
Scam photographers are on the rise.
What are some simple steps up & coming
models can do to avoid scams.
Always get a good understanding of what
is going to transpire (types of outfits,
transfer of pictures, cost of shoot and
timeframe that everything will take) upfront.
If they feel unsure after that, get it all
in writing. It might create extra work for
the photographer; yet, at the end of the
day a real professional will not mind the
work.
What's your opinion on the entertainment
side of the photography biz?
It is growing, and everyone needs to be
up on their education of the market. It
also gives urban photographers and
models a chance to work.
What was your best moment under
the lens?
Shooting my Aunt's wedding. Nothing like
capturing good times with family.
What advice can you give to up
& coming photographers?
Learn your craft.
What's next in 06'? What can we
expect from you this year?
Hopefully, a continued upward trend on
my skill level.
How do people find out more about
you, contact you about bookings & photo
shoots? Where do they go to see your work?
They can go to my site: CharlesEdwardPhotography.com
or give me a call.
Shout out, last words?
Just thanks to God, my skill and talent
is a testament to his blessings. Big ups
to Andrew Warren (helped my skills grow
and showed me the right path on how to do
photography the right way). Bavu Blakes
(my business partner and close
friend, who often listened to many of my
rants and raves). Nakeah Fuller (always
kept my model's faces looking fresh).
Kuwn and Asiah Jacobs (my two most consistent
clients in '05). To any one that I have
worked with this past year
(without y'all, I would not have anyone
to take pictures of). Edward Hall (for giving
me the exposure on www.UrbanSouth.us). Finally,
to those I have not called by name, that
have taken the time to encourage and provide
positive words, thank you.
