Shawna
Michelle Interview
Interview

You haven't been modeling
that long. How did you get started and making
moves so fast?
It's been a year now and I
have been hustling my butt off too. I gained
some fans first with my home pics taken
with my digital camera with a timer. I soon
progressed into professional photography
and learned and grew from there. I make
most of my contacts on the internet submitting
my pictures to different websites for features
and traveling here and there
to do photoshoots for magazines. I appreciate
what I have achieved so far.
You went to school for fashion marketing.
What exactly is that and does this have
anything with being a
stylist and make-up artist?
I attended the Art Institute
of Charlotte, NC Fashion Marketing which
covers Buying, Merchandising, Management,
and other various jobs in the fashion industry.
A fashion stylist is someone who puts together
a clothing image for
someone. If I was Beyonce's fashion stylist
I would do what her mother does, except
I would not design and sew and
cut the garment. Fashion marketing is not
associated with makeup fully, but sort of
due to the color forecasting that both
collab in.
So you are the person looking at
everyone telling your friend girl how tacky
they look? lol.
Sort of. lol! I mostly do
that online while I am surfing the net.
Is it better working in
front of the camera or behind the
scenes and how do you balance doing
both?
I like both. I love the camera.
I'm still working on perfecting
my facials. I am always practicing
in the mirror to learn my angles
better. Behind the scenes is nice
because you get to soak in other
peoples emotions and thoughts and
incorporate them into your own.
Do you have a lot of conflicts
with photographers being in front
of and behind the camera?
No. Thank God I have not encountered
anyone that rubbed me the wrong
way. Photographers will flirt, but
the model has to let them know where
it stands.
What is your best and worst
experience in front of the camera?
My best experience in front of
the camera is when I did the kiwi
and strawberries implied nude shoot.
I really enjoyed that. It was a
well thought out idea and went according
to plan. My worst experience in
front of the camera is when I shot
with a photographer that I thought
was good and in reality he was not.
He displayed images that were not
his own and Ii fell for it. Never
again! lol!

You just launched
your website so tell us more about it.
My website has been something
I thought long and hard about doing. I was
wondering if it was a waste of time and
money, but I finally saw it was a good investment.
I plan to turn my website into a members
site that will contain
exclusive photos, video features, &
live web cam access. Nudity will not be
displayed; just some all time classy sexiness.
So we can have this visible to all
of our readers, 'Do we get a special membership?'
We are not talking
about that guest tour stuff. lol.
LOL! Yes, you get a special membership.
What advice can you
give to up & coming models? We all know
you have to stay strong and keep pushing
type of answers. Give them some real advice.
lol
LOL! I would tell the newbies to not feel
that they need to belong to a group or agency.
They can get a name for
themselves by networking and perfecting
their craft.
What's wrong with joining groups and agencies?
I don't think there is anything
wrong with joining them, but I think you
should try and build a name for yourself
first and
learn the business. Once you have the knowledge
and a name for yourself, they will come
looking for you. Most
models fall into groups and think that is
their modeling career. A true model stands
on her own feet first.
What's next for Shawna?
Right now I'm preparing
for my 26th bday party, CAPRICORN!
I'm also in the gym getting my body
perfect before I jump into anymore
photoshoots. I plan to take my photos
to another level. I also plan to
get some posters ready to sell on
my website, also preparing a DVD.
The 26th of
what? Urban South has not been invited
but it's cool.
No I'm turning 26,
lol! My bday is on the 7th of Jan.
My bday party is going down Jan.
4-5th at Allstars in Charlotte,
NC. Carl Thomas will be celebrating
with me
on the 5th. You are invited!
Are you single?
Yes, I am.
You just made
some men happy! Why are you single
and what are some things men should
know when approaching you?

Yeah happy for the wrong reasons. lol!
I'm single because I am focused on my
career at the moment. Plus most men
can't handle my modeling, that I'm independent
to a point, and that I may be further
ahead in life than they are. Also,
most men are not trustworthy and confident.
Most women may ask for too much, but there
are women out there that appreciate the
small things. I guess the simplest things
are so hard to do. I am not a liar, cheater
or stealer and I
prefer my man not to be as well. I also
don't do casual dating or sex friends.
If I'm interested in you its going to
be for
the long run.
I'm over here thinking
about, 'Does she always try to pick her
man's clothing out since she works in Fashion
Marketing?'. lol. Are you guilty of that?
Have you ever ran a man off doing so?
I do have a habit of checking
out my man's clothing. I check out everyone's
clothing I encounter. I will not down talk
my
man about his outfit if it is not put together.
I will just suggest something's and wont
leave the house until he fixes it. lol!
But if my man would love for me to pick
out his clothes I would do it.
What are your best body parts and
why?
My lips, they are soft and
tasty. My hips, they give me those one of
kind curves.
Why does it sound like you are teasing
the readers?
I love to tease.
Can we expect a personal
DVD a calendar?
Yes. Expect my DVD later in
08. I will probably release an exclusive
DVD with my calendar in 09.
We will be sending you an Urban
South model shirt for some photos. Putting
it out there now were we can see
a documented answer. We do it to every feature
model. LOL
Sure that's fine.
Any last words,
shout outs?
I just want to thank you for this opportunity
and thanks to all my friends that support
me and continue to show love.
